Biman Bangladesh Airlines has launched a new Passenger Service Solution (PSS) with full digital services. Activities have been transferred to 'Saber Corporation', an organization other than the current PSS 'CITA'. As a result, passengers are getting online ticketing, booking, check-in, web service, etc. services start from Sunday (February 27) morning. However, although there is a facility to buy tickets on the website, the mobile application is not being launched right now. It is learned that the transfer of data from PSS 'CITA' to 'Saber' started from 3:45 pm last Saturday (February 26). Ticket booking, reservation and ticket issuance activities were closed from all channels of Biman for about 11 and a half hours. However, special arrangements are being made at this time to carry out the activities related to air transport including check-in at the airport as per schedule. Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Tahera Khandaker said that the ticketing cost of Biman has come down with the launch of new passenger service solution. At the same time, passengers will get the opportunity to receive, change and refund more flights online. It is learned that passengers will still be able to book tickets, as well as decide which seat they want to sit on. Money can be paid through mobile banking channels as well as with bank cards to buy tickets. In 2019, Biman hired a company called Travel Shop to run ticket sales activities on its website and mobile app. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the mobile application of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in December 2019 through a stylish ceremony. However, the sale of tickets of Biman Bangladesh Airlines was stopped on the online platform from last August 10. However, the Travel Shop stopped the service complaining against the Biman that Biman was not paying the fare of the server. However, Biman canceled the contract blaming the inefficiency of the Travel Shop. Subsequently, in September 2021, in addition to ticketing on the online platform including the mobile app of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saber Corporation was tasked to launch a new Passenger Service Solution (PSS). Under the agreement, the airline's ticketing system through the service's Sonic Passenger Service System (PSS) is working to digitally transform, increase revenue and improve passenger experience. Through artificial intelligence technology, the company is helping to develop commercial activities, including the development of flight plans, taking the needs of customers into account.
